The Insurance Savings Checklist: Are You Missing a Discount?
Most people “set and forget” their insurance, but a 10-minute review could save you money. Check these 6 items to see if you’re eligible for a lower rate:
- [ ] The Multi-Policy “Bundle”: Do we handle both your home and auto? This is usually the largest discount available (often up to 20%).
- [ ] The “Low Mileage” Credit: Have you retired or started working from home? If you are driving less than you used to, your auto premium should reflect that.
- [ ] Home Safety Upgrades: Have you installed a smart doorbell (like Ring or Nest), a security system, or water-leak sensors in the last year?
- [ ] Academic Discounts: Do you have a student on your policy with a “B” average or better?
- [ ] Paid-in-Full or EFT: Many carriers offer a discount simply for setting up automatic bank withdrawals (EFT) or paying the full term upfront.
- [ ] Roof & Utility Updates: Is your roof less than 10 years old? Some companies offer a discount for a new roof.
